Islam in the Holy Land

No other place on earth looks back upon a history so rich in faith and spi­ri­tua­lity than the Holy Land. This tour focu­ses on Islam, one of the three mono­the­istic faiths, revea­led to the Pro­phet Moham­med ﷺ‎ in the 7th cen­tury CE and fea­tures nume­rous of pla­ces rele­vant to its long-hold tra­di­ti­ons and beliefs.

Day 1
Arri­val Day

Upon arri­val at Tel Aviv Air­port, your ITERU rep­re­sen­ta­tive will meet with you and wel­come you to the Holy Land. You will then be trans­fer­red to your hotel in the Holy City of Jeru­sa­lem. The rest of the day is left for you to rest. Din­ner and over­night in Jerusalem.

Day 2
Jerusalem's Old City

After bre­ak­fast, your guide will meet with you at your hotel. Enter the Old City of Jeru­sa­lem through one of its seven gates and walk through its old and nar­row streets. You will expe­ri­ence the dif­fe­rent sounds and colors of the shop­ping streets of Jerusalem.

Visit the al-Aqsa Mos­que and the Mos­que of Kub­bat al-Sakhra (Dome of the Rock Mos­que, entry usually not per­mit­ted), the Tomb of Rabiya al-Adawiyya, the Isla­mic schools with their Mam­luk style archi­tec­ture, the Isla­mic Museum, the Temple of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Tomb of the Vir­gin Mary.

After­wards, return to the hotel. Din­ner and over­night at your hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 3
The Tombs of Samuel and Abu Obeid

After bre­ak­fast your guide will meet with you at your hotel to start your tour by visit­ing the Tomb of the Pro­phet Samuel on the outs­kirts of Jeru­sa­lem. After­wards, drive to Ramla and Jaffa to visit the Tomb of Abu Obeid and then on to Latroun. Return to your hotel in Jeru­sa­lem for din­ner and overnight.

Day 4
Jeri­cho and its Vicinity

After bre­ak­fast your guide will meet with you at your hotel. Start the tour by dri­ving east­wards to Jeri­cho. On the road to Jeri­cho, stop at the Nabi Moussa, the loca­tion where the tomb of the Pro­phet Moses is loca­ted - a loca­tion 11 km south of Jeri­cho and 20 km east of Jeru­sa­lem in the Judean desert. It is revered by all Mus­lims because the pro­phet Moses, one of the great Pro­phets of Islam is buried here.

Con­ti­nue to Jeri­cho to visit Hisham’s Palace, where the famous Tree of Life mosaic is loca­ted. Visit the hill of Tell es-Sultan and see the ruins of the Old City walls of Jericho.

After Jeri­cho con­ti­nue to the Dead Sea. If you wish, you can bath or float in the Dead Sea and treat your skin to a very rich mine­ral mud from the sea. Return to your hotel in Jeru­sa­lem for din­ner and overnight.

Day 5
Hebron and Bethlehem.

As always your bus will be wait­ing for you to start your tour. After you meet with your guide you will drive to the vil­lage of Hal­houl, which is loca­ted on a hill on the left side of the road, less than 5 kilo­me­ters from Hebron. The beauty of this vil­lage is shown in the abun­dance and fer­ti­lity of this land, a region rich in vineyards, known for its gra­pes from the district of Hebron to have a dis­tinc­tive taste.

Near the vil­lage is the mos­que of Pro­phet Yunus bin Mata. Accor­ding to Isla­mic tra­di­tion it was built over the grave of the Pro­phet. Then fol­low your guide on a walk through al-Khalil (Hebron), as it is cal­led in Ara­bic, mea­ning "Fri­end of God".

Visit the temple of Abra­ham (al-Haram al-Ibrahimi) and the tomb of the Pro­phets where Abra­ham, Isaac, Jacob and their wives were buried. Also, the ano­in­ting of David is sup­po­sed to have hap­pend here. The place is con­side­red to be equally holy to Mus­lims, Chris­ti­ans and Jews. The bibli­cal town Ma’mre, where legend says that Abra­ham pit­ched his tent, and three angels ushe­red him that his wife Sarah would give birth to a son, is also close by.

After Hebron return to Beth­le­hem, where you will visit the birth­place of the Pro­phet Issa (known as Jesus to Chris­ti­ans), at the church of Nati­vity. Return to Jeru­sa­lem. Din­ner and over­night in at your hotel in Jerusalem.

Day 6
The North of the Holy Land

Today you will drive to the north part of the coun­try to visit Haifa and Mt. Car­mel. Stop at the Baha'i Temple and Gar­dens. Upon your return visit the Tomb of the Pro­phet Ali.

Return to your hotel in Jeru­sa­lem for din­ner and overnight.

Day 7
Depar­ture Day

Trans­fer to the air­port for your return flight or extensions.
